. a new rasmussen poll shows romney leading president obama by two machine points in that battleground state. >>> a wedding celebration takes a violent turn. a massive brawl broke out between two wedding parties at a hotel bar in philadelphia. youtube video shows a chaotic scene in which guests are seen fighting with police. four people were arrested. a 57-year-old wedding guest, reportedly the uncle of the bride, suppered a heart attack. he was taken to a hospital but pronounced dead a short time later. >>> was it a rumble or a fumble. two of tv's biggest personalities debated politics while most of the audience at home couldn't watch it. it was a hit for those who did see it at george washington university, but video servers crashed because of overwhelming demand. viewers who paid $5 to stream the debate online took to twitter when they couldn't connect. organize verse apologized. they have offered refunds to subscribers who had problems or they're saying you can go back online and watch it in its entirety. you saw a lot of that there last night, the spinning -- >> i saw that at your

:00. >>> mitt romney has enjoyed a boost in several polls from a strong debate performance, but it's a new poll out this morning of voters in swing states that may hold the most encouraging news for the former governor. the poll by nbc news, marist and "wall street journal" shows romney closing the gap in three states. ohio, florida, and right here in virginia. it is virginia that is considered one of the most importan states of this election where romney is really gaining some ground. he now leads the president there 48% to 47%. that is a three-point swing from last week when he trailed by two points. in ohio is where we're also seeing some new numbers this morning. the president still leads there, though. romney has gained two points, though, in the last week to shrink the advantage to 51-45 right now. the president also leading in florida this morning, but only by one percentage point, well within the margin of error for this poll. the only good news for the president here, it is the same lead he held during last week's poll. >> while mitt romney can't be in all key states all the time, his

:00 p.m. pacific time right here on nfc. >>> the latest nbc news wall street journal marist polls find that republican nominee mitt romney has surged in three swing states. governor romney's largest gain was in virginia where he now leads president obama 48 to 47%. that's a virtual tie and within the margin of error. in florida president obama retains a one point lead over romney, 48 to 47%. in that key battleground state of ohio mitt romney gained two points but the president still leads 51 to 45. >>> well, elsewhere today marks one month since the deadly attack on the u.s. consulate in benghazi, libya. yesterday the white house again lied any intentional coverup of what led to the assault and said the investigation continues. lawmakers demanded to know how lax security may have been and whether warning signs were simply ignored. nbc's steve handlesman is in washington. >> reporter: to highlight his concern, president obama had his terrorism advisor john brennan in libya to push the investigation of the 9/11 2012 attack that killed u.s. ambassador chris stevens and three others. but r

the romney campaign get a bump in the polls at least coming out of that debate. so going in, both of these candidates -- vice president biden looking to energize things while paul ryan looking to not dampen any of the enthusiasm that they feel like they gained coming out of the first presidential debate. they talked about a range of topics from taxes to jobs to the economy. and also, some heated exchanges when it came to problems in the middle east. let's take a listen. >> we will not allow the iranians to get a nuclear weapon. >> they're moving faster toward a nuclear weapon. it's because the administration has no credibility on this issue. >> there is no weapon that the iranians have at this point. are you going to go to war? is that what you want to do now? >> we want to prevent war. >> they want to prevent war, but obviously not afraid to skirmish when it comes to the politics of this campaign. early results from the pundits, from the analysts showing they feel like it was mixed, that both sides came in wanting to do certain things, and both men apparently able to do that in t
